Q. Do you have any past experiences that you think may have contributed to your current situation?

I hitchhiked from Ontario to Vancouver about a year ago, primarily because of my home life.  With the absence of a father, I never felt that my life had any guidance. I've thought a lot about what drove my decision to leave, and I think that the motivation behind it may have been the opportunity to better understand myself and what I want to do with my life.

Q. What impact do you think a cellphone could have on your life?

To avoid being discharged from Covenant House, I have to provide them with updates when I'm running late for my curfew, and having a cellphone would allow me to do just that.  I've also had trouble communicating with employers because I lack a static phone number.  Without a cellphone, it's nearly impossible to confirm shifts and stay in contact with the management team, making it hard to hold down even the most basic of jobs.  In September I also want to start studying, possibly in the Mathematics (as part of my plan to grow more independent), and having a cellphone would allow me to do just that.
